Hello i found this fingerprint of a suspicious service:

I tried:
hackthis.co.uk/niceports/Trinity.txt
hackthis.co.uk/levels/extras/niceports/Trinity.txt

Hmm, am I close or far away?

I’m looking for a service. But i dont know, what the answer should be. Is it just the name of the service. Should i connect to the listener and sends some packets?

I launch a nmap scan and found several services, but nothing “suspicious”. Does anyone have a litlle hint ?

After scanning, what I know to be done is making an exploit when detecting the OS, OS version etc.
Is it banner grabbing you refer to @RichardBrook ?

The answer is in the suspicious service, look at the logs from your nmap/zenmap scan go through all the services line by line then it will be come clear to you.

On what does the services run on? Try and get all of that. Thats the key to finding the answer.

@alperc : I would suggest you remove that nmap command. It’s like giving away the answer to this level.
