New here and to hacking...

Hey guys, I’m new to website and the whole “Hacking” thing… Well I sorta am… I’m just wondering if this is a good place to learn how to start hacking? Since I know you all are going to ask “well what kind of hacking do you want to learn?” I guess I can only say, I want to learn a little bit of everything… I have spent my life in front of computers and video games and this stuff has always interested me but I never new where to start… What do you guys think? Should I give it a try here? Also I am learning and have learned most of HTML and CSS basics if that helps with any questions you all may have in mind.

Little bit of everything, eh?
Well this site will focus more on the vulnerabilities in the web, so you won’t be learning for example buffer overflows here… But still, web vulnerabilities (and their exploitation) is a good place to start.

Okay thanks to the people that answered.
I have done a couple of the basic missions. It’s super hard and challenging but I do like being able to overcome the missions! Hopefully I can learn a bit here :)

Welcome to the site! For the most part all of the information you need is on the web and free. Stuff such as Java, C#, perl, and so on. While computing books can be expensive, I personally enjoy them over PDF files. Something to take into consideration :)
