Dear all,

I’m really stuck after a lot of reading and manipulating images. Anyone can give me a hint?
I got 2 images and XOR'ed them.

Well, this challenge is nice…

It looks like you are on the right track, this thread actually contains a big hint ;)

Thank you for giving me directions. Nevertheless, I did analyze, I combined both images directly on top or shifted as to form a full chessboard. After, i tried all the image tricks I know from photography and nothing. Sometimes I think I see something but maybe it is psycological. It feels I’m almost there …

I’m back, thank you guys. I left it sleep overnight. Now I got hold of the tools in Caesum but I’m desperately combining the images with no result. I’m not sure whether I missed one crucial step or if I’m supposed to get it by sheer luck. I’m begging for no spoiler but links where I can study, learn and find ideas to finally solve it.

Definitely you are not supposed to get it by sheer luck.

The fact is that you already have all the things you need, you just have to dig a little bit more on what you have so far.

I’ll give you a little hint: when you perform something take a close look at what you get as result.

MrCyph3r, thanks for your input. I digged on the web as to how to use Stegsolve to reveal hidden images. Actually i found differences in some color channel but still I found nothing usable. I also think I understood the hint and did work “exclusively”. Since you told me luck is not required, I wonder whether I’m doing stupid combinations with both figures. If so, no wonder I get nothing.

And I look as close as I can …

Cheers!
