Getting tired of a hackers life
After 30 years of being a techie, and after I lost my last tech job, I decided to cross the floor and try pre-sales. I have never been happier!
I am still on the tech side, but I also get to tell others how great the product is.
I also get to laugh at the techies and their miserable faces walking around tired and unappreciated all of the time!
@crua9 Since when are you living a hacker life ?
Personnaly I’m not getting tired of it !
But I think white hat is not really cool sometimes.
Daflor great to know that you’re very experienced !
Also what was your precise job ? :p

@Mugiwara27 - I work https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presales now. So I get to talk to the customer at the beginning. Get them excited about the product, and build a POC to show them how our product will work on their environment.
It is fun, exciting, and never a dull moment.
@dalfor - lol That’s a little like social engineering :p
That’s look good :)

There is virtually no protection for anyone :p . All people are being spied by their government or other agencies . crua9 , maybe you need to take a small break and should come back :) . I am sure after that you might have a better motivation .

Well, to be honest, my interest and excitement about this field keeps growing each and every day… I never get tired and I always feel that I have too little time to invest on learning new things, I would like to have more!
Plus, I love receiving messages like this:
Can we have a Discussion, will like to do some bussines with you
or
I have a job for you, if you can hack contact me at [removed for compassion]
And many others, I could decide to make a book on day, all quotes lol
Totally agreed with @MrCyph3r :D
Granted, I have been in this for less than a month, who knows what I’ll say ten years from now lol. I think it’s part of the human nature to grow tired of things… over time. But if you’re growing tired of playing (hacking) games on a website, which isn’t really a job, then yes, you might find something else more worthy of your time. :)
I think you’re right MyCyph3r. I’m thinking about going into coding mobile full time with hacking on the side.
Some of the stuff I was working on at the time of the post (and somewhat now) was working from 12PM to 3 or 4 AM on multiple projects. Some of the clients wanted to screw me over by saying they didn’t want something when it’s in writing, and others try to blame me for something I didn’t touch. On top of this, I keep having to tell clients I can’t do things because hacking people’s facebook or workers personal phones is illegal. (then they give me crap for it)
At times it feels like I have to have a lawyer on speed dial because many of these companies want to have the work done, but don’t want to pay (even if they pay most up front). Then on top of it, I have a few other projects going on and gone back to school full time.
The reason why I’m thinking about getting into coding is it’s the new thing I enjoy, and I can legally do it and do the Tech Reviews and Help YouTube channel at the same time.
Hi all. I’m kinda new to this, but from what i already experienced, yes i can agree with “ there is virtually no protection for white hats”.
I think this matter is aproached different in each country, but in general, it’s always the tech guys that get the blame of almost everything (at least in my country it is).
If coding makes you happy, it’s legal, and gives you some money, i wish you good luck. Always heard “if you change, change for better” ;)
Depends on what you code though, and where. I’ve heard many things about coding jobs all over the world… in some places you get paid wonderful money and have fun, while elsewhere you may be treated like a slave and get shitfaced constantly. YMMV :)
Also, coding != hacking. Coding is a useful skill for a hacker to have, but that’s about it. :)
