I just got rid of Windows XP, and the company that I was working for was still on Windows 2000!

windows what now?!?

On a serious note, this will be another “keep for the future when you need it” set of videos.

Thanks again!!

Is it not good practice to wait for the SP1 before going to a new Windows version?

I have about 10 min experience on Win8 but 2012 server did a fantastic job for corporations.

I’m not sure if Windows 10 will be the last or they will release one after it.

I’ve heard of a mix from people who work at Microsoft. Some of the people are saying what you’re saying. But others are saying they are going to release 1 more and just call it Windows.

Personally I think they are going to make this one the last one since they are moving a lot of the controls online (that makes since). For example, I have a how to setup parental controls coming out June 19. Before all of those controls were purely on the device, and it was a complete pain to deal with it if you have multiple devices. However, now the settings for that is online.

From looking at how they are evolving Windows 10. I think there next big thing is how to get devices to automatically talk and trigger things on their own. Kinda like a 1 up of Apple’s and Google’s syncing abilities.

@RichardBrook

Functional wise. It’s actually really good. Look wise, they still need to polish that (there is a ton of placeholders).

Windows 10 looks to be far superior when it comes to security. Other functions are pretty much like the same as previous models, but I think Windows is allowing apps to talk to one another now (or they will be). If this takes off, then I can see this taken off Windows again.
The only problem is, the store looks gimmicky, and no one is developing for Windows store.

I may make some Windows 10 apps in the future, but it doesn’t look like there is much money or reward in it. Then again, it may be worth while if I can make something around or with Cortana.

As far as Cortana goes. The voice program seems interesting since it doesn’t force you to actually speak to it. I think a lot of people will get some use out of it because it’s like Google Now (on Android). But we will see whenever the full thing comes out.

Oh speaking of security. The one major security problem I did find with Windows 10 is it loves showing you your e-mail. I sent Microsoft something on this because my e-mail shouldn’t be showing up at all, and when it does. Only part of it should be showing.
That away someone can’t grab my e-mail as they are walking by or from the lock screen itself.

If anyone else is using Win 10. Please send them something on this too. The only place where your full e-mail should be shown is when you’re putting it in or if you’re checking your mail. Other than that, it really shouldn’t be shown at all.

The answer to this is it depends on the person.
But, I’m running it in VM Ware. Right now I’m doing videos in things that shouldn’t change. Like how to change the background, how to setup parental controls, where can you go to select what you want sync from one computer to the next, and so on.

I’m holding off of Cortana, advance security features, and other things until the full version comes out next month.

BTW, right now they are talking about making the security so tight that it’s like Apple. (It’s still possible to hack in and make viruses for it. But it’s a hell lot harder compared to the old versions)
