I made a video on how to do this. It’s not 100%, but it’s better than what most cell phone networks and makers are giving people.

Seriously, growing attention for the Stagefright bug is good, but the only thing I could learn to protect myself was to turn off automatic retrieval of MMS.

AFAIK this doesn’t save your ass. Two things I suggest:

[] Turn off automatic retrieval of MMS and completely delete your MMS access point until the issue is resolved

] As always, watch out and don’t open suspicous files/links. There have been reports about drive-by infections on manipulated web pages.

Sadly, that’s all you can do.

I’m trying to find a way to make a service that can legally test your phone if it can be hacked.
