Question about RAT

Good day Sirs,
A long time ago I have been using old but good RAT Cybergate. I have been using it on my main computer on windows platform without using any AV. It worked good for my, without any complications. So I want to start using RAT again, but because of lack of knowlegde, I’m a little bit afraid of downloading it in my computer and getting infected by other RAT user. My question is, can virus get from virtual machine to my main Windows? Can I use RAT on VM and get same results as using it on normal OS(like windows)? Which RAT is best?

Sorry for bad english.

You must be afraid of downloading RAT from Internet because 90% of them are infected.
No, your main computer files can’t be infected by a virus in your Virtual Machine.
They are really Virtual machine, it’s like that’s your main one.
So don’t be afraid of what you’re doing using this VM ;)
Yes you can use your RAT in your VM and get the same results as if you were on your main OS.

They are so many RATs but the ones I used to test were njRat and Darkcomet, which are pretty good.

Be careful in assuming VMs are closed systems. There are always ways. The VM could be connected to the same network, you can copy files between VM and host and there could even be vulnerabilities in the virtualisation software/hardware.

Always be afraid. ;)

A few weeks ago I downloaded something that was infected in my VirtualBox and my antivirus from my main OS still blocked the virus from getting in in my machine. So I think @dloser is right. This naughty virus must have found a way around it.

Thank you guys, u have answered all my questions. I remember that i tried to use RAT on my VM, but once I’ve infect the victim I didnt get anything from him. Does VM need some kind of special settings to be set? And also Im looking for, where can I download good darkcomet rat, by saying good I mean that without any “extras” :D? (I know this is a little bit dumb question, but maybe u will know :) )

For some reason I feel the need to quote the disclaimer…

This site does not encourage or condone any illegal activity, or attempts to hack into any network where they do not have authority to do so.

So the best way is making a non-connected machine just for dangerous uses ? :p

By saying victim, I mean my parents PC in other city, they often need my help, because they do some stupid stuff(downloads unknown programs, clean pc etc.). Anyway Im also planing to make fun with my roomates pc :D . And Im planing to put server in my laptop, so when i lend my laptop to friends i could see if they dont do smth stupid. If you guys think that I’m trying to hack others or spread my virus in internet, thats not real, because Im not that kind of person, I like to create or help, not to steal or destroy.

You will probably not be able to spread your virus online if you need to download it from the internet, that’s it.
Also, I think any RAT or virus, or something infected or malicious in any way gets detected by an antivirus, unless you apply other tricks but that still doesn’t guarantee a 100% undetectable proggy.

You don’t need a RAT to monitor your own laptop :|
It looks like you still don’t have the necessary knowledge to attempt this kind of things, so I suggest you to read more about the concept before blindly downloading stuff from the web and running it.
But this is just my suggestion….
