If anyone here is thinking about buying a physical copy of mass effect 3 to avoid a 10GB+ download, don’t bother. i expected to put the disk in and install the game, all of a sudden, a dodgy replica/Virus that EA calls Origin is installed and try’s the download the game.

it says nowhere on the disk or case that there was a compulsory download of 10GB+. The exact same thing happened with battlefield 3.

no wonder game piracy is so high. big fat corrupt business men cry to news article when someone doesn’t pay for one of there games, yet they do it to them self’s.

EA can go to hell!

Na , i have a 3G dongle !!!
But , my broadband has a package of 20 GB per month for Rs.500 !! Then if the limit exceds the charge increases !!!

Its not really about the download speed or anything, its the fact i got the CD version to avoid the download, it didnt specify anything about having to download the game via origin (which is pretty much the worst game client, steam FTW).

If they did it for security i would understand the inconvenience, but there is no reason for it, they already have security, a 1 time use key. If you buy the game second hand, you also need to buy a new key.

Yea those keys to play online are so stupid! When I bought my PS3 I got Uncharted 3 with it. Fun game, did the single player but when I want to register my key for multiplayer it dont work!!! So if I want to play multiplayer i’ll have to buy a new key its so stupid and useless I decided to not buy it.

I got battlefield 3 on cd, and when I tried to install it without internet connection it just installed from the cd. Only thing was when I wanted to activate it it needed origin and then it also installed some updates, but they weren’t necessary.

lordflappie that’s interesting, but most new games require an internet connection to play the game, even if the game is single player only. Or it wont play the game without registering the key with a server.
