Noob Guide
Hi there I’ve been doing a lot of searching and came across this –>

https://www.deepdotweb.com/jolly-rogers-security-guide-for-beginners/
Really gives one a good insight into the world of hacking and the tools one needs…
Also provides one with enough info to figure out how exactly to stay anonymous… hope you enjoy!!
A beginner practices until he gets it right, a professional practices until he can’t get it wrong!

I read only a few lines of the article and ….
For hacking specifically, it is recommended to use open source Operating Systems (OSes) such as Linux distributions that have root (Administrator) privileges in order to get the most out of the tools you use.
… this made me laugh …
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘\’‘ at line 1
Reason 1: He recommends using an Open Source OS… why? can’t you hack with Mac or Win?
Reason 2: This is supposed to be a “noob guide” (as he calls it)… I think that a novice should not start with a Linux distro or, at least, he should not be forced into thinking that he can only hack from a Linux machine because it is simply not true.
Reason 3: He states that you have to be root in order to “get the most out of the tools you use” ???? like, seriously?
These 3 lines clearly demonstrates that he doesn’t have a deep understanding on what he wrote on the article.
P.S.: and I didn’t mention the “lovely desktop” reason for choosing Mint
Your definitely right, the “Noob Guide” however is just a nice insight into the world of hacking…
Some things are disputable and others not but its up to each person to decide…
The guides reason for recommending a Open Source OS is most likely because of privacy issues concerning NSA allegedly having Microsoft Install back doors into their OS…
After reading the guide , there is a lot of researching that should be done if you are a true noob or if you are just curious to learn more, if you are a noob your mind will most definitely explode with the amount of information you will come across…
Just remember these links are purely for educational purposes…
This site does not encourage or condone any illegal activity, or attempts to hack into any network where they do not have authority to do so.
Ok, I got your point, however I still think that this guide is pretty much misleading for a complete novice (and not just for the things I pointed out before).
I agree though that this might just be my opinion and I could be wrong, I don’t say that I’m the only one who say correct things but I like to say what I think.
Talking about the OS he clearly states:

No reference to privacy issues or other reasons…
I agree with MrCyph3r on the fact that you don’t need Linux to learn and apply the knowledge of hacking. I currently am using a completely firewalled Mac laptop. I did my research and because of it I got through the installation firewall with a root hard-drive and can now do whatever I want, but of course this was very difficult to learn. Its still possible without Linux. :) Happy Hunting
