Can’t really agree with you. The game is open source written in Java so it is what you make it.
Besides that you can build pretty much everything (boring in the first place but:) you even can build circuits and make working calculator or whatsoever. So of course that’s boring for someone who knows that stuff or already used other programs to simulate that but for gamer of an lower age who are interested in such things it probably isn’t that bad.
And there is a lot you can do when you are good at math and programming.
If someone is interested in minecraft I would highly recommend watching SethBling’s videos on youtube.
