Kali Linux IP address 10.0.2.15

hello everyone,when I set ifconfig it appear the the IP is 10.0.2.15. Instead in my computer the IP is 192.168.x.xx. where is the problem plz?

you using it on a virtual machine ? perhaps you set it for NAT or under some virtual network that has a dhcp config to set that ip ? please tell us more about the set up you are using (vmware or virtualbox , or if its native , etc)

i’ve found the solution , i changed the “NAT” to “bridged adapter”

there you go :) , read a little bit about what is NAT and Bridge and you will understand whats going on for the next time :) its actually really interesting how the vms work

I would guess that it’s your local ip, kinda like 192.168.1.* if you type in “ipconfig /all” in cmd.exe (Windows)

but I could be wrong though, you should Google it :D

The question has already been answered, your answer is not something that’s being asked for, and it’s clear that they are using Linux, not Windows.

@dloser I am sorry that I didn’t read the post before answering. I just sorta guessed what he was talking about, as I only skimmed through it. Plus, I don’t spam dudes, that was just something at the time I wanted to know how to do (Knowledge is power my friend)
