Anyone here interested in lock picking? This is a nice animation for anyone that has no idea about the magic of locks.

hehe, i pick locks, for a hobby :P
when ever bored i get one of the locks i have and pick it open, fun to do. all you need is tension wrench and a paper clip, and you could make the tension wrench from a paper clip too :)

I used to be really interested in lock picking, to the point that I even did a speech on it in grade 7. I tried to pick a lock using a screw driver and a paper clip but I failed miserably :(

@Wibben. use a flat head screwdriver and a hammer :P if you put the flat head screwdriver resting on the front of the lock and hit really hard with a hammer i’m sure you will get in. this also works on some cars for ignitions.

@icehead
Apply some tension to the lock and fiddle with the pins and try to get them to the unlocked position one by one. If you are new to this, you could get a practice lock, which allows you to see the pins or even make one yourself.

FlabbyRabbit the animation you have provided is hard to understand because I am new to lock picking so can you provide the tutorial for the same it will be beneficial for us to understand easily.

If you are new into lockpicking, then maybe you should buy or make a practice lock; one that shows you the pins while you pick it. For example Brockhage makes those (http://www.lockpicks.com/clearpracticelockspoolpins.aspx)
