Map it

Hi all,

This is my first post on the forums here, I got through the Mains and the first 5 Basic+ since yesterday, they were really interesting and a nice challenge!

I feel like I’m echoing some of the other threads here, but none of them quite address the specific query I have…

Basically, I’m running as broad a scan as I can on NMap, against the IP address that was listed as correct in Basic+ 6, and am only getting the basic HTTP, HTTPS and SSH ports back…am I missing a step maybe, or do I just have to wait and do the scan again another time? (I’ve scanned the address 5 or 6 times so far)

Maybe you need to scan even more ports.

Thanks for the quick response! :)

I searched nmap -p- IP ADDRESS and got those same 3 ports as open, I even branched out to the servers I found when getting the info for Basic+ 6, and none of them had anything. I feel I’m missing something obvious, but for the first time in these challenges I can’t seem to see why

I am also stuck on this. I am using NMAP to scan all 65535 ports…But I am only getting 21, 80, and 443. What am I missing?

If you can’t find what you are looking for, you are probably looking at the wrong place. If you are sure to be where you need to, just look again, the first time may have failed.
