good hacking books | Defend the Web

Hi i am know the basics of most attacks and have done 90% of the challenges on here and i want to expand on this through some books. The books that i can find are for system admins and NOT for the hackers (they show how to protect from the attack not perform)

anything about (beginner/ intermediate
website/network hacking and social engineering :D

I want a hackers opinion and not another system admins

would love any good pod casters also

Exactly that is what you should learn.
If you know how to protect then you should be able to understand how to attack.

But you should look for books about “Gray Hat Hacking” that might be what you are looking for. ;)

just had a look at the “grey hat hacking 3rd edition” looks good, bit expensive but i dont mind if it is worth it :)

I have been very eager to read the book “Ghost in the wires” by Kevin Mitnick. i listened to a little bit of the audio book and it sounded really cool

All books of Kevin Mitnick are really good. They’re more about social engineering though.

ghost in the wires. yeah that was the first book i read cover to cover, it is great not what i thought it would be. worth a buy. not much about hacking but their is so much socail enginering and phreaking. i recomend it even if you have no intention to leanr to hack :)
