Showing real IP in router settings

I don’t think you have any problem . >I would rather not have my computers information plastered all over every hot spot I use. This implies you are using other people’s wifi/public wifi, to hide yourself you will need a MAC address changer , if the netgear router you are using is yours , the ip showing there should be your public ip, your VPN software connects to the vpn via your public ip, so your ip still isnt hidden from the vpn provider . Google ‘whats my ip’ and check if this is the same as your ip showing on your router.
