Hacking Music/Playlists

0

I have a ton of music that I listen to and loop and randomize through when getting work done. Just to get into the mood to crack down, get inspiration, comfortable, make the entire experience better, and just to create an overall trance. I’ll list some of my tunes below that I’ve aquired, specifically for hacking, overtime. So if you’d like to take from them or add some amazing tunes, that is what this thread is for. Also I know I’m not the only one who has a playlist for breaking into peoples networks lol. So we should get pretty listy! Enjoy!!!

Also the genre doesn’t matter but if you’d like to give an explanation of why you chose that song or your taste in music that gets you going, fantastic!

Flyleaf - I’m so sick (Yes, I picked that up from Live Free or Die Hard! about 4 years ago I was searching for the movie, since I saw it when I was younger but couldn’t remember the name, and since then when the scene comes in where Matr Farrell is doing his little hacks late at night, the song stuck and also good for getting me started or to randomly start playing at an intense moment.)

Dj Spectre - Hard Clan is great! For whenever I get really into my work and things are getting pretty instense I feel as if I’m on a race through the cyber world on some challenge or competing in some kind of quest. I got it a long time, I believe 4 years ago actually. I was water this hacking video on youtube, this is before I was a Linux user but, they had the green text black terminal up and were typing all kinds of script, hitting enter, all kinds of text was scrolling, all kinds of files were being written and I thought to myself, “Holy Shit!” Since then the song has stuck and is part of my list. As I said, it makes me feel like some kind of cyber warrior or idk. I really can’t explain the feeling. But that video set an impression on me back then. I have no clue what it is anymore so if anyone knows which one it is tell me please so I may be able to relive the moment. Well then again I was like the shittiest hacker back then so maybe it’s like the easiest thing ever being done or idk. I think you guys get what I’m saying.

Blue Foundation - Eyes on fire Zeds Dead Remix is one I got last night. It’s really calm and soothing. Not always when I’m doing attacks do I like to go crazy and be some crazy caffeine generated machine punching at keys. Sometimes it’s good to take it chill and calm and just get in that trance to let the information flow. Last night I went out with the girl and some friends to a concert and a frat party afterwards (it’s so boring and immature idk why anyone is into that stuff… It was honestly against my will kind of since everyone else wanted to go :P ) Well I was mentally and emotionally exhausted but had to get some work done on the computer so I hopped onto my computer and before doing anything I thought to myself, “Shit, I need a new network to start doing my work off of.” So I started into the air-ng suite and got to work. After a minute I started running into all kinds of issues and was like, wtf? So I hoped online and started looking for the solution to whatever I was doing wrong, it was because being online was interfering with my interfaces. :P Derp! Well anywho I came accross a video in the process of searching and this song was playing and I decided…. This is going into my playlist!

Excision - Get to the point is also great. I was watching a tutorial on doing something in Unity game engine and well this was playing. It has a creepy sound and it’s quite weird but always a good random card to get thrown in.

Forget My Silence - This is only the beggining: Great song… Really heavy and another good random song to get thrown in there. It get’s me moving and motivated.

Porcelain Black - King of the World is a fucking FANTASTIC song. A girl who can scream and does everything in the project is amazing. It also has this aura around it. It has like meditation chanting in the background but it soudns creepy and a very dark supernatural feeling to it. I’m definitely a sucker for creepy shit. I don’t remember where I heard this song. It was earlier in this year when I moved accross country and I believe I found it in the related videos on youtube when listening to music.

Raise these Sails - John Riis became one of them is an okay song to throw in. Just one of those songs to throw in to change the mood up.

Expansion Ghost Mix Overload Walt & Feliz / Walt & Feliz Expansion Showtek remix, are both great songs. At the slash separates the two of them. Found them in a shuffling video some time ago. They are great, have a lot of bass.

Machinimasound - Streets of the Uknown is going to be the last song I put a description in for. It has a modern day trance sound with some 8-bit video game music which is really good. Sound like something you’d hear from the Tron: Legacy OST. Some reason this song always results in me doing parkour the next day with friends though Haha… Anything from Machinimasound is always good for hacking though…

From here I’m going to just list the song before and some more because this is getting pretty lengthy!

Only music i listen to , weather i am helping a baby fall asleep or writing some code , (or trying to hack something lol) , is death metal \m/, i do not condemn any other genre and i think it is great that you have put so much effort into your post. Evisceration plague is a must for your list :) , i like all metal songs you put in there too :)

0

I like music, but not in my work. When I am concentrating on doing something (coding, reading, writing…), the world should be silent. :@

2

Haha dang! So nobody really listens to music when they do their work? I don’t know, just some reason it’s the only way I can work. Whether I’m in school or what not. And yes Pinkponyprincess, Death Metal is amazing! Metal is the main genre of music I listen to. I just figured that everyone else would have some kind of playlist set up for hacking and programming. Lol Thanks guys for posting

I usually listen to Crazy Frog when I doing HTML/CSS or trying something on Metasploit. Also if I am on my system and I’m not watching any movie/series. I am definitely listening to a song. Also listening to Eminem helps me a lot. Some Metal bands that I like are Metallica, Guns n Roses, Iron Maiden, Cradle Of Filth, Lamb Of God, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I don’t like all the songs of these bands/singers but I have a Playlist.

Evanescence - Bring Me To Life
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Californication
Train - Drop Of Jupiter
Eagles - Hotel California
The Rasmus - In the Shadows
Guns n Roses - Knockin of Heavens door
Metallica - Nothing Else Matters
Cradle Of Filth - Nymphetamine
Metallica - One
Linkin Park - Shadow of the day
Hoobastank - The Reason
Def Leppard - Two Steps Behind
Five - We will rock you
Linkin Park - What I’ve done
Scorpions - Wind of change

I’ve been listening to this band the past couple of days.

my favorite song from them so far is this

The guitarist for this band is crazy and they have a kind of outerspace sound and all the instruments and vocals are at their MAX potential.

Here is a bit heavier/darker of music. Has a freakin' awesome beat and drums, guitar, everything is doing something unique.

This is just brutal and the drummer Aaron Kitcher is amazing but I don’t care for the theme and the lyrics though since I’m religious and I think murder of the innocent is wrong.

Here’s a good instrumental band. Has a kind of ambient feel to it is pretty badass.

Haha, I like that @Zoino! Sounds kind of spooky and has a covert operation feel to it. Here’s a kind of ambient techno song. Very peaceful…

I didn’t like the album art so I didn’t post the official audio. Still HQ though–

I also listen to music while working. As flabby said, it helps me block out unwanted distractions. But my taste in music is so diverse that i can’t possibly list songs here. I listen to everything from rock (from Scorpions to Amorphis) to folk to classical to jazz and blues, sometimes even rap (rarely, though). Depending on the kind of work i do, i sometimes want music without lyrics.

I do recommend Two Steps from Hell and DragonballZ soundtracks…

@Fireshard right? Really sets the mood too

Listening to music while hacking is fun.

1

The only way I can work is with music… Unless there is a need for me to be really focused. Usually I end up typing to the beat though… I listen to stuff like Air Supply or Tears For Fears. These are usually helpful there has been a time or two when the lyrics helped me figure something out.

Damn @MaxLockhart she looks burning hot!! Lol I’m definitely gonna add it to my favourites. :)
Anyone listens Greenday? I just love their beats and background music.

0

Why don’t you go ahead and post some tunes @Greyhatfool ? That’s what this thread is for anyways. Put your tunes and playlists in. What inspires you and gets you going as well as expressing yourself, kind of thing…

Yes indeed @IAmDevil ! Yes indeed… and yeah I like to listen to some Greenday. Not all of the time but a few select favourites or whenever it comes on on the radio or Pandora. Boulevard of Broken dreams is one of many favs of theirs.

Alright I like to listen to Here I Am by Air Supply and Shout from Tears for Fears. Some other good songs are stuff from Dr. Horribles Sing Along Blog I love the song My Eyes and I really like Brand New Day. I also tend to listen to Eye of the Tiger by Survivor and some stuff from CCR.

Haha @tlotr reminds me of my old dojo. My Sensei made a instructional video for reference for all of his students to show the Katas from different angles so we could practice at home “Wake Me up When September Ends” was the main title music. Holy shit @Greyhatfool these Air Supply guys are great! I can totally rock that. Maybe not in the hacking process but after my friends and I compromise someones server this is going to be the fucking victory cigarette music right there. Thank you @tlotr for posting the videos of these guys. They’re fantastic! “Making love Out of nothing at all” I have heard many times before on movies and on the radio. It’s one of those songs I find myself humming to and not knowing what it is. And holy shit, Eye of the Tiger… All of this good 80’s rock, shit. You guys have me wanting to go watch Rocky and the Karate Kid back to back. Why couldn’t I have been born in the 80’s? Times seemed much more simple…. better…. idk. lol
I’m writing this as I’m listening to and reading all of your comments, btw. Damn, we’ve got some Guns n' Roses up in here too. Axl Roses voice is freakin' phenominal! Some great tunes guys. I love the 90’s punk scene as well too. I personally listen to more Metalcore and Post Hardcore than Punk Rock but both have deep roots in hardcore which comes from Punk Rock so I definetly appreciate it. I’m not sure about Green Day, they’re punk rock but have there own style and slide toward the emotive rock side at times, but they are fantastic for what they do that is for sure @IAmDevil
Here’s a tune for all of us Hackers… Punk Rock tune, I originally heard it as a part of one of the montages in “Swordfish” then later heard it on the radio, found myself rocking out to it. Listen to the lyrics, and feel the music flow through you as you type.

Am I a dick for bumping this thread whenever it dies? I think it’s a pretty good thread….

[IAmDevil]

Lol this thread is one of the best! “When September ends” more of an emotional choice. :)
Anyone likes Flo Rida? I like Whistle, Turn Around, Right round and many more.

@MaxLockhart glad that I could help you start your growing liking of Air Supply. I actually started Karate Kid and I own Rocky so I think I’ll take your advice and watch those back to back! ;)
