Hi, random off-topic question. I actually like the less recent kind of music, such as ABBA and whatnot. Anyone else here like that too?

There is SOME music from the 21st century that I like, but most of my favourites are from before 2000.

i lost interest back in 2002, for the time of 1996,7 and until 2002 i was like a moving musicpedia :P

had around 400GB of mp3s then my HDD got fried, i cried, and lost interest ever since.

Yeah I can relate. I recently lost my second 1 TB HDD which had more than 500 GB of movies around 200 GB of series, anime. Lost everything. I’m still crying.

Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, mostly classic Rock but also Iron Maiden and Metallica or almost pop-like like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I do appreciate other genres from time to time too (as long as it isn’t rap or hip-hop).

Or should i say rediscovered, as it’s pretty old?
On the other hand their sound is quite new.
Dloser was pretty amazed, too.

Of course the first thing that came to my mind was to post it here.
Looking at the previous posts, you all are big music fans -
Dloser is highly delighted.

So, before i tell you what it’s all about, i just wanted to rephrase how great they are!
Pretty much everything about the band is great.
All in all, i can get really excited about music.
Music was my first love, and it will be my last.

I was starting to feel like that reading through this thread.
Really got a love for UK hiphop (not grime).
People like Jehst, Braintax, Sonnyjim, but their all pretty underground.

First band I really liked properly was linkin park, this was a while back now though not keen on their newer stuff pretty sure they’re just doing it to get their contract over with.

As I’ve got older I’ve become less resistant to pop music but by no means would I go out of my way to seek it.

I feel like lots of rock has lost its edge.
Again it might just be I’m getting old but what happened to QOTSA, Korn, SOAD, Limp Bizkit, Nirvana and so on, also like the older stuff such as Sabbath, Iron Maiden Metallica just don’t seem to find so much good rock stuff, did like some The Slaves stuff recently and Awolnation particularly “Burn it down”.

Quite like faithless' stuff as well to be fair.

So yeah a fair old range, just interested to know if anyone out there likes their uk hiphop stuff but I doubt it.

Ghost are amazing. I wasn’t much of a metal fan before I found them, but they opened my eyes to the genre about a year ago. I’d say that when I don’t listen to “focus-music” (instrumental indie-stuff that’s odd enough to function as white noise, basically (">like this)) I listen to metal (primarily Ghost and Skraeckoedlan) most of the time now.
