Hello to the Hackthis community.

I’m new here.
I’ll explain to you my problem; After registering, I received a mail to confirm my email. I did all the steps required but I’m still having login problems and the sentence ‘'You must be logged in to view this content’‘ It’s very boring because I get it all the time (after finishing a level, when I want to use the forum….). I must precise that I allowed the cookies from the website.
I hope someone has an idea about how to fix this problem.

Thanks in advance for your pieces of advice

So, whats the problem? You have to log in every time the page refreshes?

Exactly. For example, I had to log in 3 times in a row to finally complete Main Level 9. Whatsmore I had to log in about 2 times to send you this message back. I sent a message in “contact us” (to contact the administrators of this website but I haven’t received any answer back).

Only specific to “https://www.hackthis.co.uk” ?

Yes. I even registered for a second timebut it ended up with the same problems. Where does this problem come from? And, to be more specific concerning Main Level 9, I completed this level in only putting my email (I wasn’t sent any mail in which you can find the username + password). Also, when I try to log in too many times I’m redirected to the Home page. It’s honestly frustating.

Try messing around with your browser settings and see what that does.

yes a very good idea by @Zoino !!
I use Firefox and there is a setting there which tell “delete all browsing data after exit” .
that might be your problem !!! or else try using other browser .

I’ve tried the method advised by Zoino but it’s still not very successful unfortunately. I can see “improvement” : it now seems to log out randomly (ex: I’m surfing on 3, sometimes more, different pages …and get logged out). I have the “same” settings as you IAmDevil (“delete all browsing data after exit”) and I’m wondering if there’s a setting I forgot to check. I also tried using Chrome but it lead to the same problem. I can’t figure out what’s going on. Is there a bug or a problem from my firewall? I don’t know if it might be linked but I also have the programme PrivateDog running on my system (BUT I allowed this website to “track” me). Do you have any other ideas please?

You don’t have to confirm anything to be able to login. But if you want to earn To-Do bronze medal, you will have to confirm email, upload an avatar and finish Main Level 1.

The problem is that some cookies (mostly “member”) has been deleted after reloading. So you need to try to figure out WHY, because that’s your own computer after all. If Firefox and Chrome do have the same problem, then your software(s) did it.

the programm ‘privdog’ !!!!!!!!

I’ve just deleted that programme and it seems to be working (I’ve got my fingers crossed). Do you think it was the problem? If so, I don’t understand why a tracking programme would mess up with me every 2 minutes while I’m surfing on a page. I’ll surf for a while and keep you informed if the problem is still here. By the way, I’m wondering if it’s normal to be logged out sometimes (after a while) on this website.
Thanks for helping me. I appreciate that.

While you’re actively browsing / refreshing pages of the site, it should NOT log you out, no matter how much time has elapsed. If you’re AFK for some time, then the site will log you out.

I am not exactly sure of what “privdog” does (was gonna make an “educated guess” about the likelihood of that software to cause the problems you described)

“privdog” normally prevents you from being tracked but I’ve just realized that it didn’t have any real impact on my recurring logging out. Therefore I guess that privdog wasn’t the problem. As I wrote previously, I get logged out randomly and I need many attempts to log in again. It’s the first time I’ve had a problem like this one. I’m all the more surprised and frustated, since I can surf on any other websites ( no logging problems). As I wrote before, I even registered for a second time and I’ve got the same logging problem on both accounts. Using Firefox or Chrome doesn’t solve the problem. If anyone has other suggestions, I’m ready to give them a try.

Let’s do this the hacker way: track your browser-to-hackthis data. See if you find anything that seems weird. Or just track it for several logout attempts and post it here. Maybe someone can find a problem there? Other than that, i honestly have no idea what you could do. First time I’ve ever heard of this happening. Does flabbyrabbit know of this?

I haven’t received any reply from flabbyrabbit unfortunately. You’ve written that I have to “ track (my) browser-to-hackthis data”. What should I do precisely? I
I must tell you that I even tried to log in with my girlfriend’s laptop and I got the same problems (btw I live in a place where WIFI is shared but there’s a web “administrator” (master?) in this building so I wonder if he might have scripted an automated log out file on certain websites such www.hackthis.co.uk.

I doubt hackthis would be on a blacklist. But it could be to do with that.

First I must thank you guys for trying to help me solve my problem(s).
I’ve found the way to surf on this website without being logged out.
If other people had, some day, the same problem as I had, they could follow this way: I’ve downloaded a VPN (SecurityKiss, free version) that simulates a European IP. As you’ll say “ it’s a very simple solution” but it seems to be working.
I must precise that I live in Asia, in a building where WIFI is shared and that a web “administrator” manages about internet (maybe that person wrote an automated log out script, I don’t know if it’s correct to write that, I’m just a beginner).
But I know that using a VPN saved my day. Could anyone (an administrator, for example) explain to me later why I need a VPN and why this way finally solved my problem?
