That guy...
Hey guys, John Smith… depending on who’s asking.
I am a male born between 1980 and 1995, so I’m a Generation Yer for those looking to market stuff to me. I do not proxy when I come on to this site because I prefer the quicker speeds than what is offered by tor and privoxy. I speak some foreign languages.
Anyway, I am not “new” per se… I spent some time on another hacking site/training ground like 6 years ago or something like that. I used to be the go-to guy for getting myspace accounts back to their rightful users, cracking WEP, etc… so I never got into much “pentesting” or anything like that.
I am looking for someone that would be willing to talk with me and help me understand these levels. For instance, I am relatively new to JS. I run Kali and I use it pretty well I think, but I haven’t quite unlocked its full potential. I have made it through a good chunk of the levels, but SQL Injections, Log Injections, understanding Java… its a mess.
I like long walks on the beach, getting caught in the rain… oh wait, wrong forum.
So, if anyone is up to friendly talks where we can exchange ideas and information or whatever, I would appreciate the help.
Thanks! :-)

Welcome to HT.
If you want to understand something, learn it.
and not only by reading, do some stuff your self.
for sql injections, learn SQL, its not hard and im not saying you should be a master with it, do some readings, install a mysql server or any other, test some queries … when queries run take anohter look at it and try to break it a part, if you can understand a query, and know how queries work it will be easy to exploit them.
for java script do the same, a bit of reading on basics, make your own simple scripts, read other scripts and try to understand them.
that goes for any programing language too.
the logfile injection is almost the same, but its bothe software/server related and code/script related.
if you learn html, javascript, php you can solve almost all levels here, add css to those and you can code websites ….
solve the levels and you can get the sites you make safer ….
im sure some people may offer to help with what you asked, but what i hope for is that no one does unless he made sure you did your part.
– WoW, long post, i must have nothing else to do :(
I Hate Signatures.
I appreciate the kind response. I have been working my way through tutorials on w3 and I have completed a good chunk of the levels with perseverance and reading. I would never want someone to give me answers to the levels. I don’t want that. I want to learn the trade. I want to become better at hacking/cracking and with programming. I have goals to automate my entire home and I need to learn to do that. Its just always nice to be able to talk with like-minded individuals that can help fuel the fire to learn more.
I look forward to seeing you guys around here. I think we can all learn from each other.
