Here’s a new “lite” version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab3 7-inch tablet.
Samsung is expanding its lineup of tablets with a new 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 “Lite” model, which combines the best of the previous full-fledged model with a slimmer, more portable design. This model is also packed with enhanced features and services, making this a great gadget to spend those unused holiday gift cards on.
According to the new dimensions, the “lite” tablet measures 116.4 x 193.4 x 9.7 mm and weighs 310 grams, whereas the previous tablet measures 111.1 x 188 x 9.9 mm and weighs 306 grams. So while the new tablet is 0.2 mm thinner and has a more compact bezel, the device weighs a little more.
On a hardware side, the specs look to be quite similar. Based on the provided list, this new model sports a 3,600 mAh battery promising up to eight hours, whereas the non-lite model has a Li-Ion 4000 mAh battery. The 1.3MP camera on the front also seems to have been ripped out, and the camera on the back reduced from 3.15MP to 2MP.
Otherwise, the specs look nearly identical, with a 7-inch screen sporting a 1024 x 600 resolution and a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor powering the device. There’s also only 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage, leaving customers depending on the microSD card slot to store their music and other media on a card up to 32 GB.
