I was looking at the source for Level 1, and I’m a little confused.

The form is

but there is no action. I’m not 100% sure how that works? I’ve never written a form like that before, is the php responsible just on the same page?

I want to know how this page would be possible to hack if the creds were not where they are. Would it be possible? Thanks

If the answer was not where it was. Would this still be abled to be hacked another way? Excluding brute force?

Well, yes,. But Main 1 is designed to teach you about how important information can be left in the source codes, so it’s best to check there.

I’m just wondering, how would one go about it another way? If the source did not contain the answer?

Ah yes. Well if the Html was coded by javascript, then you would have to edit the url accordingly…..
Hackthis!! has some levels like that. You will find out later on as you continue to do the levels.

Well, you’ve already done some of the Javascript levels so you should know. There will be more like that in Basic, Intermediate…..etc. (you get the point).

Yes they are similar to the ones I did on hackthissite a while ago. Firebug is being a real pain, I don’t know how to display full HTML with line numbers!

I edited the JS on JS3 and I ended up at 3?pass=codexxx (removed numbers) however it’s not completing the level

That’s because the value is wrong. Look at the value.
