Watch_Dogs and smartphone hacking... Its real
Hey people, I’ve been doing some research on hacking, and hacking with the Android operating system. There are lots of ways to trick other devices to thinking your phone is a router, allowing you to hijack sessions/cookies, replace all the images or videos on someones pages, or even simple things like checking all open ports on a device, or cutting the internet/interrupting with systems. phone or computer, smart tv or smart watch. Or hacking your newer car to override all driver input and controlling the breaks causing large accidents, or switching traffic lights, or using a hacked application to take pictures from your phone camera all the time, slowly creating a 3D model of all the rooms in your house. (Waits for your reaction) I KNOW RIGHT?!
Heres a video that gave me ideas, and explained what I am talking about in a whimsical manor.

he also talked about someone who tricked phones into thinking his computer was a cell tower, allowing remote access to all conversations without tapping/bugging.
So, this is intense.
And very very real.
Anyone else here play Watch_Dog(e)s before? And are you more exited or worried about these new hacking opportunities?
(Obviously not to perform terrifying crimes, but to learn more)
Also, If any other of you have Android phones, look at
THIS Application http://dsploit.net/
And THIS tutorial video

@maybeno dsploit is ok, but doesn’t do anything too interesting. I know of many android tools, but I’m not sure if I can release the URLs here without clearing it with my company first
@sabretooth I have to agree, to be totally honest, but I’m trying to get something out there for all skill levels, it has a really nice GUI.
http://resources.infosecinstitute.com/security-hacking-apps-android/
Theres a little bit of information on easy - GUI included applications for android!
With proper tools, as mentioned in the video, something set up with a flick of a switch can do certain things, I forget exactly what.
But still, interesting topic.
Thanks for sharing @maybeno
I had seen similar videos before, some of them posted on this site so most of the stuff didn’t really surprise me. The only thing that doesn’t cease to surprise me is the fact that no one is implementing security to all these electronics, why has no one thought that criminals could use these flaws for dangerous activities?
@sabretooth if your company does allow to release the URLs then could please post them, would be interesting to have a look at the different softwares. :)
@xzy123prog Yes, I KNOW! But some things like using your phone as a router would take alot of effort to thwart the plans of hackers. You cant just never use wireless, and the computer and wifi connect a certain way, your phone can connect like that… Some technology just seem to come with inevitable consequences.
@xzy123prog you had a very good question but i just thought most of them realy got know big ideas of any secondary function thier devices could do and everything is been programme meaning there will always be someone capable of creating a programme that will break up systems.
I am what U Ain’t
Phones aren’t a lot more exciting than laptops, and before anything like watchdogs could be real everything would have to be connected to the internet

@TaaRt, lets take chicago for instance. See all those cameras ALL OVER EVERYWHERE? I thought I read somewhere that some are heavily encrypted over the internet, and some are on closed networks. Cant verify though, because this was over a year ago, I tried to find the article but I couldnt =S
Oh, and your signature is SO. FUNNY.
Oh, and its only more exiting because its so portable and can connect to the internet / any local connections from anywhere.
I guess the guys that made all this technology did not have a hackers perspective.
As for the security part, of course it is very hard to implement, in any area, not just hacking. For something to be secure, every flaw has to be found and taken care of, but as a hacker, one only has to find one flaw to penetrate a system.
IMO something really bad has to happen for people to start caring about security, until then I am not sure much will be done in the required time.
@xzy123prog I think with technology being such a growing part of our world, self driving cars, wearable tech, etc. its only a matter of time before a city does something like ctOS in Watch_Dogs. The number of flaws that would need to be found would be high, and like you said, a hacker only needs one.
