when youclick on your profile you can see what you did
your history

now i was wondering why you cant see for example
(namelink) gave you karma for your post in (threadlink)

is this a good idea? lets vote :D i like voting :D
pls tell me why and why not

oh and also is it a good idie to have a selectionmenu for the threads
like follow this thread (give a notification when someone posted in it)
or follow this section (notification for all the things in that section: opening a new thread and posts)
or follow persons (stalking someone and get a notification for whatever he does)

(last one is a joke :D)

I think that whoever giving you karma being made known to you is a good idea. Maybe as a notification. It could be useful to make users want to give back to people who have recognized them. I personally would like to thank anyone who has given me karma. :)

And exactly that point is what makes me want to refrain from implementing that. Although I do like the idea, I think that giving karma is just about the post itself. If it is a good and helpful post I can give credit to it. It is not for giving someone positive karma, because he gave me some in the past. I have seen developments like that on several occasions. To get a good reputation on some platforms, you had to vote for other people. It is like eBay where some sellers just gave a bad rating to their customers because they were not satisfied and gave a bad rating to them and vice versa with good ratings.
Either the post deserves it or not. It has nothing to do, who it actually wrote. There is no need to thank you back. First there is a good post, and the second user thanks you for that. No need to feel guilty for having written a sensible post…
As I said, I like the idea, but I do hate the consequences…
