Important here. You rename wrong file extension.

Windows 8 is a pain in the butt. I did some beta on it!

If you download the b1.txt file onto your desktop open the file using notepad.
Look at the first characters you should see BM6. What type of file uses that??
Could it be a mp3 file?? No because that most likely would be ID3. How about
a jpg file?? No because that would have a lot of stuff like this maybe. Exif
How about a gif file?? No again that would be GIF89a or something like that!
So what type of file would a BM6 file be? Whatever it is try changing it from
b1.txt to b1.something else.

u have to download the text and rename it to something else like something.something

were you can be pro computer but it is not all with the same level of knowledge so your information revolves around the pot is pointless. there is not even a course to learn before each exercise. Its been 3 days that I’m on is his starts me seriously inflated.

Have you checked veraths post in this thread? With the hints given there, you should be able to identify the filetype.

I turned to file a Hundred times on every type that is proposed notepad + + I found nothing so am I stupid or not be there in the notepad

Look guys, I got the correct file extension the first time luckily (but I won’t say it :)). The problem is, after I’ve renamed it, I attempt to open the file and it says that the file isn’t compatible with by version of Windows (I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit). I’ve even run it in compatibility mode with every single Windows option all the way back to ‘95’! As no-one on here is allowed to tell me the user, pass details so I’m stuck in a rutt with no way out, even though I done it the correct way (IMO). Please someone personal message me and I’ll tell you my method and if it’s correct could you tell me the user, pass details, or at least fix the file so it’s compatible with Windows. Thank you

You will have to do it yourself, there are enough hints. And if you still need help ask someone for hints not for solutions. And you should finish the Main levels first.
