I think it would be a good idea to have an activity stream of events on the dashboard. The old HackThis!! used to have such on the right sidebar.

Some of the events could, for instance, be:

   - Challenge completions
   - Creation of new threads
   - Donations

Playground bar already shows challenges completion. That might be cool to see user’s medals in some kind of widget, but not sure about user’s threads… user’s articles maybe?

Yes, but the playground bar shows only your personal progress. I was referring to a general feed of events that are not only personal.
