I have just been digging around in some old forum threads and found a lot of really cool posts that I have never seen before. Including lists of software, code snippets and just general nuggets of information. It would be really nice to have somewhere to keep all this information in a readily accessible way. Something like a code bank but not just code … general lists and bits and pieces. Something like pinterest for the security world, but nothing like pinterest.

Anyone got any ideas, suggestions or remarks?

Oh yeah, like an article section but named like “Cool posts” where posts would be sort by similarity or relevance, rederecting these posts. That would be great :)

It’s not very appropriate to upload the content source to the 3rd party. It should be stay here, on HackThis; because it was written by HackThis members, after all. But wait, does the Articles section is not enough or does it have some limits which I couldn’t see? We can easily create more categories for lists of softwares, code snippets…

I second the articles section. Now we only need to find someone who has the time to scrape all the good posts and convert them to articles.. :)

The article system is good for long or detailed information, but for code snippets and lists, maybe another system would work better.

I guess once the karama system gets used we should be able to filter on that, but maybe something similar to the hearts on articles, we could apply to interesting posts. These could be approved before being accepted. Then have a page which shows the ‘stared’ post’s along with a link back to the thread.

Just an Idea.
