Open Source HackThis!!
I have been toying with the idea for a while but now I would really like to see if there is any interest. For the next version of HackThis!! I would like to use open source techniques. With anyone who wants to contribute helping to shape and mould the site. From fixing bugs, adding features, refactoring code, design, documentation etc. I really feel that as a community we have a wide range of skills that could be brought together to make this site amazing.
I will of course be continuing to work on the site no matter what, and intend to release subsequent versions in a public repository. The current version (5) is not suitable for release and this is why I would like to get as many people on board to work with v6 from the very beginning!! So if anyone is interested let me know :)
We currently have one public repository on GitHub which is used for NexBot (a Node.js IRC bot) and it has been great to see other users interested in contributing. https://github.com/HackThis/

I like this idea too, I would love to help but have no real area of expertise. I will update my bio on here tonight with my skills etc then you can decide if you want me to help, even if its just testing I’d be happy to help :)
I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.
print(", ".join([str(x) for x in range(1,100) if not [y for y in range(2, x) if x%y==0]]))
Work has begun on this, you can see the repository here. I will soon add a more formal documentation section on the site and an area for users to register interest in helping, as well as dedicated communication channels.
Quick update, the last month has seen:
3 authors have pushed 132 commits to all branches, excluding merges. On dev, 80 files have changed and there have been 12,905 additions and 104 deletions.
Hi Flabby let me know if i can be any assistance on working on the site. From writing code or what ever :)
When solving problems, dig at the roots instead of just hacking at the leaves.
